Arran Folly, FRES
Arran is a senior scientist in the vector-borne disease group at APHA, with responsibility for running and undertaking research linked to the arbovirus National Reference Laboratories. Before starting at the agency, Arran obtained a Masters from Imperial College London and a PhD from Royal Holloway University of London.
Arran is an expert in disease ecology and has presented and published on a range of insect specific pathogens and insect transmitted zoonotic pathogens. His main focus is on understanding the interface between pathogens, their hosts, and the environment. Arran is an avid entomologist and can often be found in the field with an entomological net, an insect guide, and a camera.
