Director of Scientific Services

Kath Webster is the Director of Scientific Services at the Animal and Plant Health Agency and has responsibility for science across the agency. She is a member of the APHA Executive team and Management Board.

Kath currently leads a multi-disciplinary team of 950 scientists and other specialists, working collaboratively with multiple partners nationally and internationally. The team is geographically dispersed at a dozen specialist sites across GB with the main research facility at Weybridge in Surrey. APHA undertakes R&D, surveillance and provides specialist services and advice to various parts of UK government, NGOs and industry. APHA also plays a key international role, hosting numerous world reference facilities.

At an international level she is a member of the European Joint Platform One Health Programme Board and the UK Laboratory Focal point for the World Association for Animal Health.
